CPLS AC electric motors manufactured by LEROY SOMER are specially designed for applications in which it is required to provide a wide range of speed control of the actuator and maintain a constant torque over the entire speed range, when it is necessary to ensure the operation of equipment at speeds up to 8000 rpm (test benches), when requirements are imposed on the electric drive to minimize mass and dimensional parameters. 20Mb video: Rolled metal stacker based on the CPLS160M engine.

- Additional options: feedback sensors, PTC temperature sensors, PTO, bearings with refillable lubrication, brake, axial forced fan. Special shafts and flanges of electric motors can be manufactured on request.
In terms of functionality, these machines can be compared with DC electric motors and servo motors. The reduced moment of inertia of the rotor provides the engines with excellent dynamic performance.
Powered by AC electric drives (frequency drive) POWERDRIVE, UNIDRIVE SP CPLS electric motors are capable of operating in both open and closed loop mode and maintain a certain rated torque (Mn) up to the rotational speed (n1), and then provide operation at constant power (Pn) in the range between speeds n1 and n2.
To select the right type of electric motor, determine the rated torque (Mn) required for your application at the design point (n1) and compare them with the graphs.
