Asynchronous electric motors Leroy Somer series PLS they are manufactured in a splash-proof housing made of either aluminum alloy for dimensions up to 250 mm, or steel for dimensions from 280 mm (bearing shields, mounting flanges and paws for aluminum housing are made of steel).
The splash-proof housing of Leroy Somer PLS electric motors provides more intensive cooling of the stator of the electric motor and thereby makes it possible to significantly reduce the weight and dimensions. Example: electric motor PLS200LP 45kW, 1500ob/min, IMB3, 190kg; electric motor FLS225M 45kW, 1500ob/min, IMB3, 388kg. Compressors, pumps, fans, crane equipment are the main applications of PLS engines.
The possibility of installing forced cooling ventilation and feedback sensors (incremental and absolute encoders) on PLS electric motors also allows them to be used as part of high-tech equipment (test benches, metalworking machines).
