C-TOP+ control device with AS-i communication (Actuator Sensor Interface) designed for optimal Automation flow valves from INOXPA. It can be installed on the entire range of C-TOP+ valves (ball valves, disc valves, single- and double-seat multi-way valves, etc.).
The principle of operation
The AS-i interface is an industrial network that connects a network of actuators and sensors to a top-level control device (master device).
To create an AS-i network, you need:
a power supply, one or more master modules, a bus (special flat cable), an insulation-cut connector, a cable from an insulation-cut connector to a C-TOP+ connector, and a C-TOP+ device prepared for AS-i (a special card for AS-i with a connector).
The power supply provides voltage supply to the AS-i industrial network. The master module controls sensors and electric valves connected to the industrial network.
Each master device sends information to the PLC, and can also control up to 62 slave devices (62 C-TOP+ As-i units).
The connection is made via the bus. This bus is used both for transmitting information and for supplying power to electric valves and sensors. The C-TOP+ device of the AS-i version must be equipped with magnetoresistive sensors.
The C-TOP+ AS-i device is also equipped with 3 LED indicators that constantly display the valve status, and one flashing red LED indicates that there is no correct signal.
Design and characteristics
The C-TOP+ AS-i has a simple and reliable modular design that provides maximum installation flexibility. This facilitates the installation and commissioning of the installation, as it significantly reduces the number of required connecting cables. In addition, the commissioning time and possible installation errors are also reduced. Depending on the version, the device can have up to three 3/2 electric valves (NC) and three sensors. If necessary, an additional external sensor can be connected. The sensors are magnetically resistive and are switched on contactless, using a magnet located on the drive rod. The C-TOP+ AS-i devices are configured depending on the requirements of each client.
