Temperature converters
The temperature (resistance) converter is used to control the temperature of liquid/
gaseous media at critical measuring points, for example, in industrial production.
The principle of operation of thermal converters is based on a change in the electrical resistance
of materials depending on their temperature. The device transforms the readings of a thermosensitive
element made of platinum/copper/nickel into an analog output signal (current/
voltage). A thermal converter is a universal device that can be combined with
thermometers, thermocouples and other temperature sensors.
Types and features of thermal converters:
- platinum – has increased resistance to oxidation;
- copper – can be operated at low temperatures;
- semiconductor – it is made of alloys of various metals.
Advantages of industrial thermal resistance converters:
- Measurement accuracy (error less than 1°C).
- The pattern between the temperature and the output signal is linear.
- Stability in a wide measuring range (from -200 to +600°C).
- Safety of operation, availability of models with spark protection, capable of working in fire and explosive zones.
- Reliable operation due to wear-resistant design with an improved degree of protection against chemically active media, atmospheric and mechanical influences.
Among the disadvantages of temperature converters are the need for a power source, and the relatively high cost of devices compared to thermocouples.
Temperature measuring transducers
In the online catalog of SALUTECH (Moscow), you can pick up and buy thermal converters of German brands:
- Endress+Hauser. Thermal resistance converters operate on the basis of a highly sensitive platinum thermoelectric element, providing precision measurements in the range of -200... +600°C. Endress+Hauser electropneumatic transducers support industrial data exchange protocols and comply with tolerance class A.
- JUMO. Devices with a rod sensor for automated control of ventilation and air conditioning systems of industrial/public/residential facilities. Device design: overhead or ducted, wall-mounted or desktop, indoor or outdoor. JUMO thermal converters are distinguished by high sensitivity and accuracy, chemical resistance and durability.
Industrial temperature transducers are mounted in the terminal head of the thermometer, on a DIN rail or in a weatherproof housing at the closest possible distance from the temperature measuring point.
