A new generation converter FR-A800 from Mitsubishi Electric This is a powerful technological development for precise and fast adjustment of an electric drive unit. It is universal in use, for programming and data storage, this device has a built-in USB interface. The flexibility of the system makes it easy to integrate and start the drive in production work. The FR-A800 is very user-friendly, has a visual control panel on the front side, and also has the ability to connect to graphic panels.

The FR-A800 can be controlled through a wide variety of industrial switching networks. There is also a modification of this series FR-A800‑E with built-in Ethernet TCP/IP web server (100 Mbps data transfer rate).
The FR-A800 consists of three subgroups of drives: series FR-A820 (200-240 V), and FR-A840 (380-500 V) with an open housing design (IP00, IP20) and FR-A846 (380-500 V) in a dust- and splash-proof frame (IP55) for appropriate production conditions.
Also, in addition to the universal line, specialized series have been developed as part of the FR-A800 Plus series: FR-A800-CRN for crane equipment and FR-A800-R2R to control the winding processes.

- Rated output current: 1,5 - 288 A when powered ~ 3f. 200...240 V -15...+10%; overload capacity: heavy duty - 250% nom. current
- Rated output current: 0,8 - 866 A with a power supply of ~ 3f. 380...500 V -15...+10%; for 3 seconds, 200% - for 60 seconds;
- Management methods – according to the U/f characteristic, simple and advanced vector control (including without sensor);
- Output frequency range – 0.2 - 590 Hz;
- FR-DU08 Control Panel;
- RS485 interface - for parameterization of the drive using a PC, PLC control using Mitsubishi or Modbus RTU protocols and connection of control panels;
- 2 built-in USB interfaces – for setting and copying parameters;
- Direct current braking: adjustable operating time (0...10 s) and braking voltage values (0...30%);
- Protective functions: overcurrent, overvoltage, thermal protection of the converter and motor, malfunction of the brake transistor, inrush current limiting device, analog input, CPU error;
- Built-in brake transistor: up to 22 kW in the 200 V power class, up to 55 kW in the 400 V class;

- 3 analog configurable inputs (1 input: 0...5(10) V or 0(4)...20 mA, 2 input: 0...±5(10) V; 3 input: 0(4)...20 mA and 0...5(10) V);
- 2 analog outputs (1 output: 0...±10 V; 2 output; open collector );
- 12 digital programmable inputs, 24 VDC. current, 4...6 mA; the AU terminal can be used to connect a PTC thermistor;
- 5 digital programmable open collector outputs;
- 2 relay outputs: ~230 V AC /0.3A or 30 V DC. Current /0.3 A;
