Having entered the market in the 80s with its own development - a complete Mezomatik V DC electric drive, which included a V series DC electric motor and a FORMIC K1S3-V/K1D1-B thyristor converter, MEZ Brno made its challenge to the leaders in the field of development and production of drive technology - Siemens and BBC companies.
Working together with Czech metalworking equipment manufacturers Skoda and TOS Kurim allowed MEZ Brno to create a universal solution for main and axial feed drives. The increasing competition during the period of industrial globalization led to the fact that in the early 90s, most of the production and research units of MEZ were acquired by Siemens.
