Electronic soft-start devices SIRIUS 3RW40 designed for smooth start and stop of three-phase asynchronous motors. This Siemens product line provides built-in additional functions, such as: adjustable current limitation, overload protection of the motor, self-protection of the device, as well as thermistor protection of the motor.
The main applications of soft starters are screw compressors, fans, mixers, escalators, lathes and milling machines and many other industrial sectors. Our organization has demonstrated a clear example of the use of SIRIUS 3RW40 soft starters in industrial enterprises where fan equipment is used.
In most cases, fan equipment is characterized by very high inertia values, leading to long starts. At the same time, during direct start, the motors are exposed to shock currents for a long time, and significant mechanical forces are transmitted to the motor shaft. This leads to overheating of the windings and rapid wear of the bearings, as well as belt drives are used in this type of equipment, which, during direct start-up, increase the likelihood of slipping and rupture of the belts.
