Single-phase asynchronous electric motors of the Turkish company GAMAK such series as MD/MSD have one working winding on the stator, which is connected to a single-phase current network. Single-phase electric motors are connected to an alternating current network of 220-230 V and a frequency of 50-60 Hz. To start the rotation of such an electric motor, a voltage must be applied to its terminals. A rotating magnetic field is created by the main winding and an additional (smaller) starting winding, which is connected via capacitance/inductance to the main network during start-up or shorted (in low-power motors). Advantages of single-phase asynchronous electric motors GAMAK With a short-circuited rotor, the following are: simplicity of design, high reliability, versatility of household use and reasonable price. In turn, this type of electric motors is often used in low-power household fans, electric tools, circular saws and lawn mowers.
