Explosion-proof asynchronous electric motors manufactured by a Russian company VEMZ (Vladimir Electric Motor Plant) The VA series with a short-circuited rotor are designed to drive mechanisms in chemical, gas, oil and related industries, where explosive mixtures of gases and vapors with air can form, classified in categories IIA, IIB, according to GOST R 51330.11 and flammability groups T1, T2, T3 and T4 according to GOST R 51330.5. According to the level of explosion protection, the engines of the VA series are explosion-proof and are marked 1ExdIIBT4x according to GOST R 51330.0. Explosion safety is ensured by explosion protection of the type "d - explosion-proof shell". The "x" sign in the marking designation means that when installing the engine (except in the case of cable piping), additional cable fastening measures must be provided to prevent tensile forces, twisting and pulling cables from cable entries. The engines of the VA series can be manufactured in climatic versions U2, UHL2 and T2.
The engines are designed for operation at an altitude of no more than 1000 meters above sea level. The motors can be operated with vibration from external sources with acceleration up to 1.0 g with a frequency of up to 35 Hz. The VA series motors are designed to operate on a 50 Hz AC power supply. The motors can be manufactured at 380 V or 660 V. At the request of consumers, the motors can be manufactured to other standard voltages and at a frequency of 60 Hz. Explosion-proof engines of the VA series have a degree of protection IP54 according to GOST 17494. The engines are made in a closed blown design - IC0141 cooling method according to GOST 20459. The engines have a cast-iron bed with longitudinal cooling fins and cast-iron bearing shields and covers. The engines are cooled by an external centrifugal silumin fan located on the motor shaft on the side opposite to the drive and closed with a protective steel casing.
