AC690+ series frequency converters from Parker Hannifin have a general industrial purpose and are a universal solution for a variety of production tasks. At the root of this drive is a 32-bit microprocessor with a high level of performance, special software for modeling control algorithms. It is characterized by a high level of accuracy and performance in controlling the speed of an alternating current electric motor.
The design of this electric drive has a modular structure, therefore, depending on the required tasks, it is possible to complete the most productive and profitable version (the proposed modules are listed below in the product specifications). AC690+ is used not only for single-axis drive, but also for multi-axis control systems. The scope of compatibility is extensive and covers asynchronous and synchronous motors (permanent magnets), asynchronous AC servo motors.
In addition to the AC690+, other types of automatic electric drive regulators are also available: AC30V, AC650, AC650S, AC650V, AC690P.

Operating modes of the AC690+ AC electric drive
Open Loop mode
This mode is ideal for building typical control and speed control circuits, both with a single electric motor and several electric motors connected in parallel. The visual and simple display of the Quick set-up menu information ensures quick and easy commissioning.
Vector mode without feedback sensor
Operation in the high starting torque mode and the accuracy of motor speed control is ensured thanks to the complex mathematical model MPAS, based on the use and adaptation of reference materials describing the operating modes of the electric motor (MPAS - Model Reference Adaptive System). In this mode, the use of absolute and incremental ecoders is not required.
Closed loop mode with feedback sensor /servo mode
The use of an encoder in the feedback circuit ensures that the 100% rated torque of the electric motor is maintained at rest (at zero speed) and a highly dynamic control circuit is implemented (bandwidth up to 45 Hz).
Requirements for the operation of electrical equipment in aggressive environments
Optionally, electronic boards of Parker Hannifin AC690+ frequency converters can have a conformal coating, which is used for additional protection of electronic boards and mounting elements from environmental influences. The use of this optional feature fully protects the electronics from elevated temperatures, moisture, conductive dust, chemical and mechanical influences.
Applications of AC690+ AC electric drives with conformal coating option: water treatment and water utilities, pulp and paper industry, food industry, metallurgy, as part of cranes and lifting equipment of port terminals.
Configuration of inputs/outputs of the AC690+ electric drive
- 4 analog programmable inputs, 10 bits (13 bits with option. system. module), 0-10 V, 0-±10 V, 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA;
- 3 analog programmable outputs, 10 bits, 0-10 V, 0-±10 V, 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA;
- 7 digital programmable inputs, nominal value – 24 VDC. current (max. – 30 V);
- 3 digital programmable outputs, relay contacts – 3 A/230 V AC current;
- 1 input of the motor thermistor.
