A series of innovative synchronous gear motors with permanent magnets by Leroy-Somer

  • Compabloc 3000 gear motors with axial output shaft: 5 dimensions (Cb 31 - 35); output torque 210 - 3150 Nm; power range from 4.8 to 80 kW. 
  • Orthobloc 3000 gear motors with bevel gear: 8 dimensions (Ot31-Ot38); output torque from 250 to 14,500 Nm; power range from 4.8 to 100 kW. 
  • Manubloc 3000 gear motors with parallel output shaft: 8 dimensions (Mub31 - Mub38); output torque from 250 to 14,500 Nm; power range from 4.8 to 100 kW.

Currently, our company, together with Leroy Somer, is ready to offer you the latest generation of gear motors based on Dyneo® permanent magnet servo motors of the LSRPM, PLSRPM series. These electromechanical drive systems are, without exaggeration, one of the best in terms of efficiency available on the market today. 

In combination with the Leroy-Somer frequency converter, both LSRPM and PLSRPM electric motors and electromechanical transmissions based on them provide the highest energy savings. 

The use of this equipment in all operating conditions and modes is significantly more efficient than using asynchronous motors of class IE2 or IE3 (possible operating modes: adjustable speed, fixed or adjustable load, constant torque or quadratic torque, constant power). 

By combining two highly efficient and high–performance solutions - gearboxes and electric motors, Leroy-Somer was able to offer the market a solution to the issue of significant energy savings in the form of high-tech electromechanical drives for modes with adjustable speed and high load factor. 

Design features of increasing the efficiency of Leroy-Somer electromechanical transmission

The technology of gear reducers based on oblique teeth allows to achieve mechanical efficiency of over 95%. This technology makes it possible to install as close to the transmission shaft as possible, thus eliminating the need for intermediate parts such as a gear, chain or belt pulley, which gives additional savings of 15 to 20% in the efficiency of the working mechanism. 

Another advantage of these new drive systems is a more compact motor; the size of the engine is reduced to half the size of the engines used in conventional technologies, thus the total weight of the gear motor is reduced by about 20% (which is half the weight of the engine). 

Examples of savings in calculation for typical use cases

Transportation - an application area characterized by adjustable speed/load, with an intensity of use above 8 hours per day;
Potential energy savings of the order of 30 - 50%.
Mixing/Mixer - a field of application characterized by constant power, with a potential intensity of use up to 24 hours per day;
The potential energy saving is about 15-20%.
Wind Generator - an application area characterized by adjustable speed/load in continuous operation;
Maximum energy output with minimum total weight.  
Extrusion
