Multi-disc brakes of the series EBP from the company PSP Pohony they are powered by an electromagnetic drive using a spring mechanism. The package of external and internal friction discs are compressed during activation and transfer torque from the drive to the driven axis using friction. The work can be carried out both in the presence and in the absence of lubricants.
They are quite easy to maintain, during the time it takes to adjust the size of the air gap and replace worn discs. Metal ceramics or organic (asbestos-free) compounds are used as a material for friction linings, depending on the application environment (lubrication or dry running).
