Radiation from a gamma source installed on one side of the container is attenuated when penetrating through the medium. A sensor mounted on the opposite side of the container receives radiation and calculates the measured value based on its intensity.

The sensor for registering the mass flow of bulk products on a belt conveyor can simply be mounted on a measuring frame. The measurement is non-contact, there are no moving parts, the sensor is not subject to wear. Very little space is needed for the measuring system, soothing flow sections are not required. WEIGHTRAG is used, for example, as conveyor scales, on conveyor systems, including screw conveyors, tray and scraper conveyors, steel plate conveyors or bucket elevators
