Mass Flow Regulators (MFC) /Mass Flow Meters (MFM) for Gases (281369)

The Type 8741 can be configured as an MFC (controller) or MFM (flow meter) and is intended for use in a buS or CANopen network. The buS network technology, based on the physical principles of the CAN bus, was developed by Burkert specifically for applications in multiple control circuits operating over industrial Ethernet or other field buses. The System Control Unit (SCU, System Control Unit) of the ME2X type converts the client's Ethernet communication network into a buS and controls all connected electronic devices.Device communication can be switched between buS and CANopen. Thanks to this, the Type 8741 can also be integrated into existing CANopen infrastructures.The Type 8741 measures (MFM) or regulates (MFC) the mass flow of gases using a MEMS sensor. The sensor is located directly in the gas stream and therefore has a very fast response time of several hundred milliseconds. In addition, the measurement does not depend on fluctuations in pressure or temperature. Upon request, the MFC/MFM can be calibrated to two different gases, between which the user can switch.
