Turkish manufacturer of electrical products GAMAK, offers its customers, at reasonable prices, electric motors with disc brakes, switchable springs and release electromagnets designed to brake rotating parts of industrial and machinery equipment. Electric motors of this configuration, due to their functionality, are always in great demand among many manufacturing and industrial enterprises. The technical and functional potentials of brake electric motors are important, since during operation they allow you to turn on the locking mechanisms, counteract the torque created by the mechanisms at the time of disconnection of the supply voltage, in such equipment as: lifting and jib cranes, electric hoists, warehouse equipment for laying raw materials, transport elevators. Moving mechanisms are stopped in a specific position and time for a time in a certain position on transport routes, winding and weaving machines, valves, pressing machines and rolling equipment. Reduce time during cyclic operation on high-speed metal and wood processing machines. Also, brake electric motors are indispensable in escalators, agitators, and any other cyclically operating equipment. In simple terms, the functionality of brake electric motors is reduced to stopping the drive systems at a certain time and a specific position.

All engines with an electromagnetic brake, structurally consist of:

  • An electromagnet and a housing housing a coil or a set of coils;
  • The armature, which is an active element representing the antifriction surface for the brake disc;
  • A brake disc moving along a toothed sleeve mounted on an engine shaft or a braked drive representing the working part of the brake.
At rest, the electric motor is braked, the pressure of the springs on the anchor, which in turn exerts pressure on the brake disc, causes the brake disc to lock, and creates an accepted braking torque. In turn, the brake is released by applying voltage to the coil of the electromagnet and attracting the armature by an excited electromagnet. The pressure of the anchor on the brake disc eliminated in this way causes its release and free rotation with the shaft of an electric motor or a device working together with the brake. Electromagnetic brakes in engines are equipped with a lever for manual release, which ensures switching of the drive in case of loss of voltage required for brake release.
