A unique offer from Kollmorgen is a series of frameless Cartridge DDR servomotors with a thoughtful design for maximum speed and ease of installation. Installation of this line on almost all dimensions takes no more than 5 minutes. Due to the features of the engineering design, this series produces a 50% higher torque density than traditional motors.
They do not have their own bearings and use the support unit of the driven machine to support the rotor. An innovative compression clutch is used to fix it on the shaft. The absence of load-bearing mechanical parts gives greater freedom of placement in space and generally simplifies the drive system. Smooth operation at low speeds, no connection backlash.
The range is available in five heights and has several rotor lengths within each dimension. The package includes built-in high-resolution absolute sine encoders (134,217,728 samples/revolution), EnDat and BiSS interfaces. A thermistor is also built in to protect against overheating of the engine.
