In the case of an asynchronous motor, stator windings are used to create such a rotating field, and the magnetic flux formed by them generates an EMF in the rotor conductors. The interaction of the Foucault current and the stator magnetic field inside the rotor winding itself forms an electromagnetic force, which further drives the rotation of the shaft.
