The C-TOP control device with AS-i communication (Actuator Sensor Interface - interface with sensors and actuators) is designed for valve automation. This option is offered for the entire range of valves with C-TOP (ball valve, disc valve, seat multi-way valves).
The AS-i interface is an industrial network that allows you to create a network of drives and sensors with a higher control device (master).
To create an AS-i network, you need: a power source, one or more master nodes, a profile cable and a C-TOP device prepared for AS-i (a special card for AS-i, a connecting cable for connection by piercing insulation and a special module for this connection).
The power to the nodes connected to the AS interface cable comes from the AS interface power supply.
The driving devices control sensors and solenoid valves connected to the network.
Each master device transmits data to the PLC and controls up to 62 slave devices (62 C-TOP).
The connection takes place via a profile cable. The cable is used simultaneously to transmit signals and supply power to sensors and actuators. The C-TOP control device of the AS-i version must be equipped with inductive sensors and 24 V direct current.
The connection is made by piercing the cable sheath with a special module, which leads to savings in cable products when connecting sensors and actuators to the control system.
