Electromagnetic flow meters
Electromagnetic flow converter
An electromagnetic flow meter is a meter that measures the flow of liquids based on the law of electromagnetic induction. Flowmeters of this type are highly accurate and suitable for measuring ultra-low and high flow rates. Meter readings are not affected by the characteristics of the measured medium. The absence of moving parts ensures a long service life.
Scope of application
In our online store you can buy electromagnetic flowmeters for the chemical, metallurgical, food, oil and processing industries. The absence of hydrodynamic resistance allows the use of devices for various types of liquids, pulps, suspensions. The devices are designed to measure rapidly changing costs.
Electromagnetic liquid flowmeters are used for commercial and industrial accounting of consumed resources. Explosion-proof devices are used in explosion- and fire-hazardous areas.
The equipment can also be used to measure the volume or mass flow rate of return flows.
Electromagnetic water flow meters are widely used in public utilities. They are installed at key points in the water supply system, where accurate accounting of water consumption is important.
Metering devices are not suitable for measuring gaseous and vaporous media, as well as liquids with low electrical conductivity (alcohols, light petroleum products, etc.).
The device and the principle of operation
Electromagnetic flow meters or flow sensors consist of two main parts:
- the flow part or the primary converter;
- an electronic converter.
The primary converter is mounted inside the pipe and is an electromagnetic flanged flow meter lined from the inside. Two insulated electrodes and an inductive coil are installed on the pipe, creating a magnetic field. The principle of operation of the device is based on Faraday's law. An electromotive force is induced in the measured liquid and is removed using measuring electrodes. A signal about this is sent to an electronic converter, where it is amplified and output as an absolute value: the speed or volume of the flow.
Types of electromagnetic flow meters
Electromagnetic meters are classified according to the following characteristics:
- the error is from 0.2 to 0.5%;
- the minimum measured flow rate is from 0.02 m/sec;
- the maximum measured flow rate is up to 25 m/sec;
- standard size - from 2 to 3000 mm;
- temperature range of the measured medium;
- Output signal: pulse, analog, digital;
- mains voltage - 12-24V DC, 240V AC;
- Ex explosion protection level;
- dust and moisture protection level IP65-IP67;
- average time to failure.
The price of electromagnetic flowmeters depends on these and other parameters. Our consultants will help you choose the right metering device.
