Sequence Valve

The sequence valves are installed in the main pressure lines of the hydraulic drive and are designed to turn on or off sections (elements) of the hydraulic system depending on the set pressure.

Hydraulic sequence valves are also called brake valves, bypass valves.

Sequence valves allow liquid to flow from channel 1 to channel 2, when the pressure in 1 reaches the valve spring setting, If there is a back pressure in 2, then the valve must be opened from the set pressure, plus back pressure. In the opposite direction, the flow passes freely. The pressure in the secondary circuit is always lower by the value of the valve setting pressure (in a VSQAPP type valve, the pressure in both circuits is the same and equal to the pressure in the system).

Sequence valves are usually used to implement sequential activation of hydraulic cylinders (hydraulic motors). I.e., pressure is applied to the secondary circuit after the pressure in the primary has reached the set valve.

These valves are also used as a forklift safety device, protecting the lifting cylinder during lowering to prevent further movement if the loader cannot move (accident protection) or to prevent unwanted fluctuations by increasing the back pressure when installed in the drain line.
