The bellows shut-off valve is a type of pipe fittings. Designed to completely cover the transported medium. It is produced and tested according to GOST R 52720-2007. It has a nominal diameter DN from 3 to 250. They withstand a flow pressure of up to 10 MPa. They are connected to pipes using a coupling, thread, fitting, flange or welding.
Purpose of bellows valves
The shut-off bellows through valve has a class A or B for tightness in accordance with GOST R 54808, which allows them to be used to block the flow of media, leakage of which is not allowed:
- acids and alkalis, including highly concentrated;
- fuel and lubricants;
- oil and petroleum products;
- compressed air;
- ammonia, methane, propane and other gases;
- decontamination solutions;
- oils and oil products;
- nitrogen and other fertilizers;
- desalinated water;
- corrosive environment and many others.
Resistance to aggressive environments and pesticides is ensured by the material of the housing and the main structural elements. Neutral steel or high-quality cast iron is used for the production of fittings.
The principle of operation of valves
A shut-off valve with a bellows seal blocks the flow due to a bellows - a corrugated tube, which is connected to the rings, forming a bellows assembly. The upper part of the bellows is hermetically connected to the body parts, and the lower part is connected to the spool or rod. When the valve is turned, the stem reliably blocks the flow.
