The step-by-step displacement sensor option can also be used to adjust the Burkert process control valves. The digital electropneumatic actual position sensor - the SideControl positioner processes all well-known standard current and voltage signals and, as an option, can be equipped with a PROFIBUS DPV1 or DeviceNet bus AS interface. The actual position sensor is equipped with additional diagnostic functions to monitor the valves. Diagnostic messages about the valve via status signals are sent according to NE107 (NAMUR) and stored in the form of chronological records. Through diagnostics, the operating conditions of the control valve can be monitored, which, if necessary, makes it possible to predict maintenance decisions and optimizes the possibilities of using the equipment. Maintenance is carried out through an external maintenance and display module consisting of a graphical display with backlight. Maintenance for the user is very simple and intuitive, it is identical to the maintenance of position sensors and process controllers Burkert TopControl 8692/8693. The pneumatic servo system can also be used for single- and double-acting drives. It is characterized by a transition to a specific safe mode when the supply of electric or pneumatic auxiliary energy is stopped and it has a very large useful power range at a supply system pressure of up to 7 bar.
