Magnetostrictive linear motion sensors TWK-ELEKTRONIK MPD/MSD series they have a non-contact sensor system, which indicates a high operating life. TWK-ELEKTRONIK MPD/MSD series magnetostrictive linear displacement sensors operate on the principle of measuring the passage time between two positions of a magnetostrictive waveguide. The first position is determined by a moving positional magnet, the distance of the segment of which must be measured. The pulse travel time is directly proportional to the distance of the segment. The waveguide is built into a pressure-resistant stainless steel cylinder. The rear part of the sensor structure is mounted in a die-cast aluminum housing, inside of which there is an electronic filling. In the "core" design, the positional magnet is located in a ring, which is located along the rod without contacting it. In the profile design, the positional magnet is located in the motor, which is fixed to the moving element of the device through a hinge joint. MPD series sensors are supplied with a profile design, MSD series sensors have a rod design, they also have the property of measuring up to 20 positions.
