The Keofitt sterile sampling valve consists of three parts - the valve body, the valve head and the diaphragm. A rubber membrane placed on the stem of the valve head acts as an elastic gasket. The valve body and valve heads are interchangeable. The valves are available in two standard sizes:
- The M4 valve is for products with low viscosity, such as beer, water, wine or milk.
- The W25 valve is for products with a very high viscosity of 0-250 000 cPa, for example, such as syrup, cellulose, oil. A W25 valve equipped with microports is available for sampling using a syringe needle.
The principle of operation.
The Keofitt valve is designed for sampling with valve sterilization before and after each sampling.
The valve is open. Sampling
The valve is opened by turning the handle (adjustable valve) or by pressing the lever (two-position valve). In this case, the stem with the membrane moves away from the saddle, opening the duct.
The valve is closed. Sterilization
The valve is closed in reverse order using the built-in return spring. This opens a channel between the fittings, into which a sterilizing medium can be supplied. In the case of steam sterilization, it is recommended to additionally install a safety valve at the outlet of the sampling valve.
Several types of valve body are available: for welding to a container, for welding to a pipe, with a clamp connection or with a fitting connection.
Valve housings
Type T: for welding to a container
Type P: for welding to the pipe.
Type C: with clamp connection.
Type S: with a fitting connection.
Valve heads:
Type H: with a rotating handle.
Type K: with removable stopper.
Type Q: with lever.
Type N: with pneumatic drive.
The crane can be supplied in a design that meets the requirements
standard 3A (with the appropriate marking).
