Three-phase synchronous electric motors manufactured by a Russian company Ruselprom SDBM series with brushless excitation system, designed to drive winches and pumps of drilling rigs in the oil and gas industry. The motor has a brushless excitation system and a control and regulation system located in a separate cabinet. The brushless excitation system is structurally located in the same volume with the motor and provides conversion and contactless supply of excitation energy to the motor rotor, protection against overvoltage during start-up and other transients. The engine is started from full mains voltage in idle mode.
The thermosetting insulation of the engine is of the Monolith-2 type of heat resistance class not lower than "B". The stator winding is three-phase, has four terminal ends fixed in the terminal box. The type of phase connection is a star with an output zero point. The motors allow right and left direction of rotation. The change in the direction of rotation is carried out only from a state of rest. The engines have grease-lubricated rolling bearings. At the customer's request, the engines can be equipped with SKF or FAG bearings. The motor is connected to the driven mechanism by means of an elastic tire-pneumatic or electromagnetic coupling (induction or ferropowder). The SDBM electric motor replaces the previously produced SDZB, SDBO, SMBO engines.
