Electric drive Unidrive M700 /M701 /702 – The new universal AC electric drive/frequency converter has been developed by Nidec ASI (Control Techniques) in accordance with current trends in drive technology and customer needs. The modification of the Undrive M701 electric drive is a complete replacement for the Unidrive SP electric drive, which is being discontinued in 2015.

Using the Unidrive M700 allows you to maximize the performance of technological equipment, this is achieved through precision motor control, built-in real-time Ethernet (IEEE 1588 V2 protocol) and high-speed I/O.

Real-time Ethernet (IEEE 1588 V2 protocol) provides better hardware management with fast and flexible communication. Synchronization over the network can be carried out in 1 microsecond with a data update time of only 250 microseconds and with an almost unlimited number of nodes.

Modes of operation of Unidrive M700 /M701 /M702 frequency converters

  • U/f (volt-frequency) control /scalar control of an asynchronous electric motor; 
  • vector control in an open loop by an asynchronous electric motor; 
  • vector control in an open loop using the RFC-A algorithm. 
  • open loop control for permanent magnet motors, RFC-S mode (without using a feedback sensor); 
  • closed-loop vector control for asynchronous motors, RFC-A mode (using feedback sensor/encoder); 
  • closed-loop vector control for permanent magnet electric motors, servo motor, RFC-S mode (using feedback sensor, encoder, resolver); 
  • Active rectification mode Active Front End /AFE (ensuring energy recovery and reducing unwanted harmonics). 

Configuration of inputs/outputs of the Unidrive M700 electric drive

  • 3 analog inputs (it is possible to connect the following types of temperature sensors: DIN 4408, KTY 84, PT100, PT 1000, PT 2000); 
  • 2 analog outputs; 
  • 4 digital inputs + 1 digital output + 3 digital inputs-outputs; 
  • 1 drive emergency shutdown input; 
  • 1 built-in relay for current 2A AC 240 V; 
  • 1 Safe torque cut-off input (STO): ensure easy compliance with the SIL3 reliability class.

  • AI-Back-up Adapter: allows you to use an SD card to copy the parameters of the electric drive, and is also a +24 V backup power input;
