Alfa Laval SMP-BC anti-mixing valve

The SMP-BC is a pneumatic seat valve of hygienic design designed for safe operation and leak detection when two different products flow through only one valve. The valve is often used as part of CIP return lines or other systems that are not characterized by peak pressure changes, and provides leak detection to improve safety.

The valve is remotely controlled by compressed air. The valve is "normally closed" (NC). The valve is equipped with two pneumatic normally open (BUT) valves, a detector valve and a CIP valve. The valve gate (the upper gate in the switching valve) has two plugs forming a leak chamber between them at atmospheric pressure. The leakage product enters the leakage chamber and is discharged through the detector valve. SMP-BC is cleaned by means of CIP by supplying compressed air to the actuator (see Fig. 1). 1).
