ABB PSR Softstarter

The ABB PSR series soft starters are among the most compact devices on the market that are designed to perform the functions of smooth acceleration and braking of an electric motor.
Low cost, simple functionality, minimal overall dimensions, reliability make PSR softstarters the best solution for general industrial tasks. The combined use of devices with automatic motors will create an effective control system for acceleration /braking and protection of the electric motor.
All models of the PSR series devices have a shunt/bypass contactor built into the housing, which automatically activates after the acceleration of the electric motor is completed. The use of this solution increases the reliability of the device (thyristors are unloaded), reduces thermal power losses, provides energy savings and energy efficiency of the system.
The linear characteristic of voltage changes during acceleration and shutdown of the electric motor allows the device to be used for a wide range of technological equipment.
Setting, control and status monitoring are carried out respectively through built-in potentiometers, digital inputs and electromagnetic relays.
Optionally, PSR soft starters can support digital data exchange protocols Profibus, Modbus, Devicenet, CANopen.
