Marelli Motori electric motors of the D5N series – intrinsically safe electric motors (degree of protection ATEX II 3G Ex nA IIC T3 Gc) are intended for use in places where the occurrence of an explosive environment created by mixtures of air and gases, vapors, mists is unlikely, or, if it occurs, then infrequently and only for a short period of time. Ex nA protection is used in electric motors that provide intrinsic safety in nominal operating mode (explosive environment does not ignite). This protection is effective for electric motors that are operated in the following gaseous media (benzene, ammonia, butane, ethanol, propane, toluene, acetylene media).
