Explosion-proof electric motors of the brand UMEB The ASAF series with an electromechanical brake are used in the work of many industrial enterprises, including enterprises in the coal, chemical, and steel industries and metallurgy. As a rule, electric motors of this type are used in cases where production process technologies involve risks of formation of an explosive combination of gases, vapors or dust, or to put it another way, "explosive environment". As a rule, the term "explosive environment" refers to an explosive mixture of gases and vapors with air classified in categories IIA, IIB, IIC, according to GOST R 51330.11 and flammability groups T1, T2, T3 and T4 according to GOST R 51330.5. In turn, explosion safety is ensured by explosion protection of category "d", which implies an explosion-proof shell of the electric motor housing, according to GOST R 51330.1. Further, the letter "x" in the marking designation means that when installing the electric motor, additional measures are provided for securing cables in order to exclude their stretching, twisting and departure from the cable entries.
