A gate valve is a type of valve with a locking mechanism that moves perpendicular to the axis of the working flow during operation. They are produced according to GOST 9698-86 and have a number of advantages:

• simple design;
• small size;
• wide scope of application;
• minimum hydraulic resistance;

The principle of operation and types of valves

The valve's pipeline shut-off valves have a simple design. When the flow moves through the valve body, the technical liquid fills the cavity inside which the gate is located. There are two saddles inside the case. In the "closed" position, the shutter is pressed against the surface of the seat. If it is necessary to open the flow, the gate rises in a perpendicular plane using a spindle with a running nut. The valve assembly is connected to the pipeline using a special connection.

• Wedge-shaped. In this armature, the seats are positioned at an angle relative to each other, and the gate is a wedge-shaped mechanism. In the "closed" position, the wedge enters between the saddles and blocks the flow.
• Gateways. A plate is used as a locking element. They are used for one-way traffic flows where high tightness values are not required.

Technical characteristics of the valves

Reinforcing valves are manufactured according to GOST 9698-86 from stainless steel or cast iron. Fluoroplast is used for the production of seals. The fittings are produced by casting, which ensures the solidity and strength of the body.

Technical characteristics to pay attention to when choosing valves in the catalog:

• diameter (DN) from 15 to 700 mm, depends on the diameter of the conveying pipeline;
• pressure (PH) FROM 3 TO 16 bar, depends on the speed and other flow parameters;
• housing material: ... stainless steel or ... cast iron;
• connection type: flange connection, flanged, threaded.

Flange connection implies the presence of a flange, flanged - tightening with studs between two flanges. A LUG connection is an eyelet connection with an internal thread.
